What is The Career Academy
The Career Academy, an initiative of the Louisiana Resource Center for Educators, is a tuition-free public charter high school focused on preparing students for post-secondary education and/or careers in high-demand fields in Louisiana using hands-on and project based learning.
The Career Academy is a public charter high school that will:
- Strengthen the pipeline from school to work for Louisiana’s key industries.
- Offer trade certification in addition to a high school diploma.
- Cater to students who would prefer a hands-on, project based learning curriculum.
- Provide academic relevance for students and the support necessary for them to succeed.

Mission
The mission of the Career Academy is to prepare students in grades nine through twelve for successful careers, productive citizenship and lifelong learning.
Vision
Every graduate will be prepared to pursue post-secondary education and/or career as a result of their experiences at the Career Academy. Students will be provided with a rigorous and individualized program of study to develop an academic and career road map.
